ABOUT OUR MEDICAL PROVIDERS
At MD&NP2ME nurse practitioners make up most of our provider pool.
What’s an NP?
A nurse practitioner (NP) is a registered nurse (RN) who has additional education and training in a specialty area, such as family practice or pediatrics.
Family practice NPs can provide regular health care for children and adults.
Nurse practitioners (also referred to as advanced practice nurses, or APNs) have a master’s degree in nursing (MS or MSN) and board certification in their specialty.
In general nurses become nurses because the really want to help people. In the hospital setting, they do most of the hard and sometimes dirty work in caring for patients. Most have a compassionate approach to health care. I’m not saying doctors aren’t compassionate. After all I’m one of them.
Just saying that in general a nurse practitioner, will usually listen more, talk to you more, and document your case better
The medical provider for my family is a nurse practitioner.
So there you have it. You have educated, experienced medical providers that are compassionate, caring, and available to you.
NPs and Doctors
Most NPs maintain close working relationships with doctors and consult them as needed. . In my practice nurse practitioners are my partners in providing care to my patients.
NPs are licensed in all 50 states and can dispense most medicines. Some states require a doctor to co-sign prescriptions. In the state of Florida NPs can practice and prescribe without physician supervision. MD&NP2ME is team of doctors and nurse practitioners working together to provide fast, convenient and excellent care to you, our patients.
